Addiction to Facebook Games

The first step to recovering from an addiction is stop the denial. I am in dire need of a 12 step program for the games on Facebook. I am sure I am not the only one, as most of the games I play require your friends to play along and I would say 50% of my friends list plays, at the very least, one game on Facebook.

What is it about these games that has me setting alarms to check my crops in Farmville? Or to feed or sell my fish in Fishville to reach the next level before they die. I have built a huge amusement park trying to gain as many visitors as possible and I am only 1 level away from being in the first spot. And I will set as many alarms as possible to ensure I get to that level. Now if that isn't an addiction, I do not know what is.

Im not even sure if I would be addicted to these games if I had not been off work for the last 3 months. I am grateful for these games, as they have helped me pass the time while I have been bed ridden. Will I continue to play these games when I am well again and return to work? I do not know, maybe, I cannot say for sure.

All I know is that my crops, fish, animals, amusement park, cities, pets have become a fixture in my day to day life and it doesn't seem like they have any plans of every leaving. I may have to hire a help to get rid of them...lol...as I am sure I will have great difficulty walking away from them. This is how bad the addiction is. LOL.

I have even gone as far as adding my name to special lists to get more friends on my list so I can further my progress in certain games. Which is comforting to some extent, as it makes me feel less alone in this crazy addiction. It is like hanging out in a crack house with fellow crack users...lol.

Well before I get too carried away with this blog entry I need to return to the crack house I call Facebook and check on my crops, food, fish, etc before I start experiencing the horrible pains of withdrawl...lol

"Friends" Episode - Ross Laminates Top 5 List

One of my favorite episodes from Friends was the one where they all create their list of 5 famous people they could get a free pass from their partner to sleep with. Poor Ross had his list laminated and prior to laminating it he removed Isabella Rosellini from his list and replaced her with someone else. Lo and behold Ross runs into Isabella Rosellini in the coffee house and no longer has her on his list. Lucky for him Rachel allows him to have the free pass with Isabella anyways, which he had no luck with...poor Ross...lol.

When this episode aired all my friends, family and I created our list of 5 famous people we would want a free pass to sleep with. My list has changed numerous times over the years, but I haven't laminated my list yet, for that very reason.

I'm a currently single and can sleep with whomever I want, but here is my list of 5 famous men I would sleep with if I had the chance, in no specific order:

1. Jason Statham
2. David Beckham
3. Eddie Ciberian
4. Lenny Kravitz
5. Matthew McConaghey

My #5 changes often. At one point it was Paul Walker, then he didn't age well, so i removed him. Then it was Ben Affleck, but he lost his appeal when he stayed married for more than 2 years.

We all know the chances of me every getting to sleep with any of these men is 1 in a trillion. Although, I did run into Eddie Ciberian during his scandalous affair with that country singer, Leanne Rhimes. I was on my lunch break, sitting at McDonalds, with a good view of Flames Central across from me. As I bite into my burger this man starts walking towards me, I was like "He looks familiar, where do I know him from" as he got closer it struck me who it was, it was my hottie from Third Watch, Eddie Ciberian. I stopped myself from jumping up and banging on the window and chasing after him, I was all a fluster after he passed. That is the closest I have gotten to any of these men on my list.

If you had a free pass list, who would you have as your top 5 famous people?

The Joys of Being Bed Ridden

One of the main reasons I started this blog was to share my experience of being bed ridden for the last 3 months with at least another 2 months to go. I suffer from menorrhagia. What is menorrhagia? The correct medical definition of menorrhagia is the passage of more than 80ml of blood each period. It is seldom realistic or practical, however, to actually measure the blood loss and so doctors rely on the woman's description of her period.

Periods are considered heavy when:

* a woman bleeds for more than 8 to 10 days, especially if this is repeated month after month.
* a woman bleeds so much that it is difficult for her to attend her job. She may be forced to plan her holidays and leisure time according to the timings of her period.
* the bleeding is continuously so heavy that the woman becomes anaemic.
* the presence of other than small clots for more than one or two days suggests heavy periods.
* 'flooding' describes the sudden, unexpected onset of periods, like turning on a tap, and indicates heavy periods.

My periods last up to 3 weeks and are so heavy I cannot even move without having an accident. The cramps are very severe requiring pain medicine to provide me some relief. I had the Mirena IUD inserted back in April with hopes that it would help with the bleeding. Unfortunately there was no relief with the use of the Mirena. The next step is surgery. So I am now awaiting to get in for a surgery called Endometrial Ablation. With this procedure they will be burning off the lining of my uterus they will also be tying my tubes.

All of this has been pretty overwhelming for me, as I have been suffering for almost 2 years. I did have dreams of having another baby in the future, but this procedure will make it impossible for me to have anymore children. Ofcourse this fact is very saddening for me. Im grateful for the one child I do have and there is always adoption and surrogacy, but the dream of feeling a baby kicking inside of me is gone.

Due to all of this I thought I would start this blog to share my experience and hopefully find others who have gone through the same thing and are willing to share the experiences with me. I am hoping this blog will give support to both myself and anyone else who may require it.

If you know anyone or you yourself have gone through this I would love to hear from you. Share your experience.

Beginning to Feel Alot Like Christmas

With the big blizzard that hit Calgary this weekend that left blankets and blankets of snow as definitely put me in the spirit of Christmas. My daughter is currently busy putting up the Christmas Tree. I have started some of my shopping, kudos to those that have finished their shopping. I am always saving my stuff until the last minute.

With the tree finally going up in our living room it got me to thinking about Christmas Traditions. What are some of your favorite Christmas Traditions that have either been past down generation to generation or maybe it is something you are just starting this year? I love to hear what different families do to celebrate this holiday. Do any of you still go out to the forest and cut down your own tree? That is something I have never done, come to think of it, I do not think I have ever had a real tree for Christmas My tree always fit nicely in a large box..lol.

Most of my family traditions occur on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day...which I will share closer to that time. Christmas baking has always been something we try to do every year. Last year it was a gingerbread house. This year my daughter is on some kind of banana bread kick, wonder if she will make Christmas banana bread? Yummy!

Tis the season to be jolly!

Lions and TIGERS and Bears..OH MY!

Tiger, Tiger, Tiger, What have you gotten yourself into? When it comes to celebrity scandals like this I usually keep to myself. I truly believe that what celebrities do in the privacy of their own home is there business and no one else.

Is it not enough that Tiger made a statement saying he would like to keep his personal sins and mistakes private. I understand there is major money paid out to these celebrities to use their squeaky clean image for endorsement purposes, but does that really mean Tiger owes us all the details of his personal fall from grace? I do not think so. Do these alleged affairs make Tiger less of a golfer? Did he lose his special golf powers when he slept with these women? What do these women do with those powers once they have them?

The point I am getting at is, yes, Tiger is human, sorry to disappoint all you avid fans who thought he was super human or non human. Tiger is a man who is as susceptible to temptation as the next guy. Yes, it is disappointing that an idol to millions would cheat, but what makes the cheating worse to me, is that his wife was pregnant. Shame on you, Tiger. None the less, I respect your right to privacy in dealing with this family tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during these trying times.

To Blog or Not To Blog

Well I have finally entered the world of blogging. I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts, ideas, feelings and opinions about everything from current affairs, politics, health matters, music, movies, war and even a peek into my own personal life.

It isn't going to be all fun and games but it isn't going to be "oh so serious". I hope to find a happy medium between funny and serious.

I want to share my curiosities about the world and what is going on in it and I hope you will share yours with me. I want to share my life experiences and hope that one learns something from them or just get a good chuckle. I will share the obstacles in my life and the solution to get around them or I will seek the solution from you.

This blog is about living, loving, laughing and learning.

I'm Miss Candy, nice to meet you and welcome to Reactive Candy.
